Easiest Cookies EVER!

Okay, so I decided to get in the Thanksgiving Spirit!!
I wanted to try out this cookie recipe I found.

Easiest ingredients ever!

1 box of whatever kind of cake mix you want
(I bought French Vanilla & a Strawberry (not pictured))
1 8oz tub of Cool Whip
1 egg
Powdered Sugar

We shall call this the "goods"

Dump all your "goods" in a bowl

Mix your "goods"

Buy a new cookie sheet for your "goods" if you wanna!

Line your new cookie sheet with paper

Put some powdered sugar in a seperate bowl

Drop spoonfuls of your "goods" to the powdered sugar
WARNING:
The "goods" is VERY sticky so it is best to drop in bowl and toss the "goods" in the powdered sugar.  Do NOT try to play with your "goods" or roll your "goods" in your hands because you will gross yourself out!

Leave some spacing between your "goods"

Place your "goods" in the oven

Bake your "goods" at 350* for 10-12 minutes
(I actually tried a batch first and found that 13 minutes worked best in my oven)

Drink a cold pop while you wait for your "goods" (if you wanna)!

If your "goods" get poofy, don't be skeered!  I was skeered, but don't be!
They won't go nowhere.

Let your goods cool a bit & that is when they become GOODIES!!!

YUM-O-LISH!!!

:)  Now on to the next one! :)

Before & After Challenge Complete

I have FINALLY completed my Before & After Challenge!

I was SO tired of my hardwood floors being so icky and dull, so I went to researching online on "How to Clean Hardwood Floors".  After MANY sites telling me about vinegar, I thought I would try this out.  Let me also say that some sites did say NOT TO DO THIS, but who am I to listen?  May have screwed them up, but for now I am satisfied.

1.Pre Plan...
Allow yourself a day to complete if you are OCD, get off track, or have to pause frequently to have a small jam session in your living room because of Pandora radio.

2. Purchase...
Go to Wal-Mart during one of the busiest times of year to buy distilled white vinegar,
a spray bottle, sponge mop, microfiber clothes, & other things on your list.
Be sure to do this with no makeup on, looking like a hot mess with hopes of NOT running into someone from your past, present or future!!!

3.  Preparation...
Take about an hour to figure out how to get the plastic covering off of the sponge mop & reassemble without having to take meds!  Waste another hour trying to figure out the scaled down ratio of water to vinegar when you don't want to use 1 gallon to 1 cup ratio & instead want to use a spray bottle.
Hour later, just put some dang warm water in the bottle, put some vinegar in the bottle, and a tad bit of olive oil & say screw the ratio part! :)

4.  Sweep or vacuum your nasty "before" floors
I got on my hands and knees and used the sucker from my
vacuum because I am obsessed with the sucker part!!
Like seriously obsessed!

That would be Doberman snot crustiness above (GROSS)!!!

5. Cleaning
Spray your mixture onto floor making sure that you do not back yourself into a corner.  Use sponge mop to scrub.  Dry with microfiber cloth & voila, SHINY FLOORS!!!!!

For some, it will last awhile.  For me, I am waiting to see, but if I were the betting type, I would say it may stay clean for uhmmmm, 4 hours.

THESE DANG DIRT TRACKING IN DOGS!!!!!!!!!

They are precious though! :)

Side note:  Your house will smell like Easter during Thanksgiving!  Stinky ole vinegar!!!

Happy Thanksgiving My Friends!! Love Y'all!

Before & After

Ok so this is not a before and after that are fun to look at.... No I haven't lost weight or no I didn't get another haircut.... But I was cleaning the kitchen this morning and thought this would be something I could post.... After all, I have not done it in awhile.... And frankly neither have you ! Find a moment and create and post your own before and after.... It could be ANYTHING!!! It takes 5 minutes to create a post.... We all can take five minutes....... Right?

Dirty sink.... Picture does not get all the filth... Trust me, it was naaaaasty...... I used my new friend:

Sprinkled some of my new friend into the sink, used some elbow grease and.......

Presto! Sparkling clean! Love my new friend (not as much as my old ones ;) ) ... Best thing is he does not stink like his cousin Commit!

So what will be your before and after? Challenge begin!!

Special Treats!!

I had some special "cat" treats over the last week!

Thursday:  I got to spend some quality "cat" time with mama cat Rach at her house!  Thanks friend for allowing me to bask in the sun, for my new "collar", my game and my "catnip" aka coffee ;)!!!!

Saturday:  Not that it's a treat getting a year older, but I had a wonderful bday dinner with family and the missing garden cat, Ash!  Got some nice goodies!!

Sunday:  I had an alley cat stop by with her kittens while she was going to Kroger Gucci!  Kasey cat, you and your kittens are welcome back here any time!  I need some new cat toys for the kittens though! LOL!

Today:  I went to my first PT appointment.  I did some little exercises, got my back lubed up with some jelly, got rubbed and poked on, got some heat, and ended it with some electrical stimulation.  It made my belly get butterflies and made me feel kinda funny inside!!  Now I have some home exercises to do & go back on Wednesday.  We shall see how this all will work!

Guess I will head up to Ash's Thursday evening to help out with her yard sale on Friday.  Probably will load up some of my crap too.  May have a dinner date one night this week....HAHA, well, we'll see how that goes! Pish!

Found a new website from one of my Instagram followers that I am now a member of.  It is called meetup.com  It has several different groups that share your same interests, etc.  I joined 4 groups...mainly to see some neat things that are going on in our beautiful state.  I may never go to anything, or I may. Who knows?  Could meet new folks!  However, I would let you cats know if I do go to something, so I don't get "cat"abducted! lol!  Actually, there are some neat "meets" that are scheduled....one being a Flash Mob scheduled for October, so I am keeping a close eye on that one!!

Guess that's what's been going on at this cat's pad....time for a cat nap! LOL!
Peace the Cat Out!

Yummy Cinnamon Bars......How to (my first)

On a whim, I decided to make you guys a how-to post this morning while making breakfast. It is not perfect.....but hey.....it's my first time! I don't usually make this dish, but Brad and Teresa were supposed to come down for a visit. Reagan has been sick....haven't been to the doctor yet.....he's fine. He gobbled these babies up quick. He said, "I yike them!" I think you guys will too.

Yummy Cinnamon Bars

This was given to me by a co-worker, Tammy. Ok your first step is to get your ingredients together.

Notice the cinnamon and vanilla is missing! Hey this is my first... When I realized it.. It was too late... Anyway, so now you have the ingredients .. Open 1 can of crescent rolls and spread over the pan.

Oh and don't forget to preheat the oven.....

Then open the cream cheese put it in a bowl and heat it up for about 20-30 seconds.

Then add the 1 teaspoon of vanilla....

Then add the 3/4 cup sugar....

Mix it up until smooth...

Important step... Lick the mixers!!! Yummy!

Then spread yummy goodness all over the crescent roll.... Get it even.... Presentation is important you know!

Again, lick the spatula...mmmmmm!

Then take the 2nd crescent roll and place it on top of what you have so far ...... And in an effort to improve appearance, I decided to slice down the middle and fold pieces out. As shown here:

Now take the stick of butter and melt in microwave.

Add the 1/4 cup
sugar ....

And the 1teaspoon of cinnamon.... I LOVE cinnamon so I add extra..,

Mix this up, but first wash the mixers...

Then mix...

Don't bother licking them this time.... Not really worth it... So just drop them in the sink..

Pour mixture over your masterpiece....

Then bake for approx 20-30mins...

Check the Yummy Bars after 20 mins... These took exactly 25 minutes to bake... Then voilĆ  !!

I must admit this isn't the look I was going for ......ha! But no worries...they looked good on the plate and tasted even better!!

This is what was left after breakfast...

Enjoy!!!

Next up: how to clean the microwave and manicures! ha!
Love you all,
-Rach

"Oceaning, Beaching, & Backing"

Well girls, I have made it back from my lovely sand & surf residence for the past few days!  Had a wonderful time!  Ate good, drank good, & met some good folks!

Thursday:
Met Sarita at Ashley's around 4:30am because that was an easy place to leave my car & we got on our way!  Stopped at the 1st Krystal's we saw and got a sackful for the drive.  YUM!  Nice drive until about Mobile.  Huge thunderstorm that almost caused us to get hit head on by a truck, but Sarita did a wonderful job saving both of our lives!  Made it to Pensa later than we hoped because of my fear of driving in the rain...made her stop many times!  We got to Matt's, unpacked, cleaned up, and went to eat at Shaggy's.  I had fried shrimp, oysters, and crawfish nachos.  It was yummy!  Afterwards, we went to Flounder's (one of my favorite spots).  Had a Diesel Fuel to drink, had some photo ops & then headed home to rest.

Friday:
Got up, headed to the beach to only find that the lot we planned to park in was already full.  Had to park about a mile and a half away, so had to wait on the trolley (which was an experience in itself)!  Made it to the beach, we had some people from AR that were there so we found them, and made our beach home for the day with them.  Got some sun, saw the Blue Angel's rehearsal, went to The Dock beach bar several times, had some Bushwhacker's, and ended back there all afternoon.  We danced and danced some more.  It was loads of fun!  About 6ish we headed back on our long journey to catch the trolley, but no trolley to be found, so we hitched a ride with a very nice young man because there was NO way I was walking in the heat carrying all of our beach crap!  Plus my back was bothering me.  Think I "Wobbled" too much at The Dock (lol)!  Made it back home, Sarita took a nap with intentions to get up and go out later, but it didn't happen!  Matt and I ordered a pizza, vegged out, watched The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (freaky movie), and crashed.  I slept on the floor that night because of my back.

Saturday:
Blue Angel's Airshow Day...Big plans to be at the beach by 9am, but it was slow going for me & plus it was storming.  We finally got down there through all of the traffic, but again NO PARKING!!  So we hung out at PegLeg Pete's to wait out the storm.  Matt ordered some kind of nugget basket & we had a Bushwhacker.  We heard that the show was going to be pushed back, so we just stayed put.  I am telling you it was STORMING!!  I felt bad for all the folks on the beach cause it was windy & lightning like crazy!  Weather calmed, so we left PLP and headed back to the lot & found a parking space easily b/c people left due to the storms.  Since my back was hurting, we stopped at the CVS earlier and got some BenGay.  I rubbed that on in the parking lot & then off to see the Blue's.  We all got separated, so I hung out with this fun family I met!  However, while standing in the heat, I started to sweat & the dang BenGay started running in a place that I DID NOT WANT IT GOING!  I was on FIRE!  LOL!  Matt left after the show, I found Sarita, we hung out at The Dock again, met Tim McGraw & Glynn (which will be discussed in person), walked to the Boardwalk, hung out at Bamboo Willies, ate chicken at Hooter's, went to Captain Fun's, danced a little, took many late night pics, was going to take a taxi, but called Matt instead....got home around midnight.

Sunday:
Got up, we all went and had brunch at Flounder's.  I had a Shrimp Po' Boy Sandwich which was fantastic!  We drove both vehicles because Matt had some housework he needed to do & Sarita and I were ready for SundayFunday!  We shopped a little at Alvin's Island, then went and set up camp on the beach.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL today!  Saw a mother reunited with her son that went missing on the beach for hours.  It was very exciting!  I got pics!  Went to The Dock....again! LOL!  Did a lot of beaching today.  About 5ish, we packed up, changed clothes in the car, went to the Boardwalk, went to SandShakers, met some "new" friends, and hung out with them the rest of the night (which is another story to be told in person) :).  Made it home around 2ish.

Monday:
We packed up, said our goodbyes to Matt, Scruffy, and Abby girl.  Got on the road around 9ish.  Made some stops along the way for Krystal's, boiled peanuts, and shoes.  Had a nice drive back, got to Ashley's to unload Sarita's car & load mine, but that is when all plans changed!  I bent over to pick up my bag, stood up, and then immediately slid down Sarita's car.  My back had totally given out on me.  Sarita turned around because I was yelling, "I can't move, I can't move"!  She ran in Ashley's to get Scott.  Scott came out helped me to my feet, but I was faintish, so he lowered me to the ground to lay down.  I stayed in the driveway for 3 hours, which is another story to be told in person!  Needless to say, I didn't make it home....stayed at Ashley's.

Tuesday:
Ashley took off work to help me.  She drove me, in my car, to the doctor in Conway, mama met us there, got checked out, went to eat at Tropical Smoothie while waiting on my prescriptions at Walgreen's, got my drugs, made it home FINALLY to see my sweet S&S sugarbabies that were missing me so very much, got settled in, mama took Ashley back to NLR, mama came back to stay with me, we vegged out, watched a movie, I slept off and on.

Wednesday:
Mama helped me around the house, she ran a few errands, came back, I just sat around, & got up to walk a little, & she left around 7pm b/c I was doing better getting around with my drugs in me!  I watched a little tv and passed out!!!!

So that brings me to today, thought I would catch you girls up on the Life & Adventures of ShaSha!  Just freaking crazy as usual!  Call me for more details and stories not posted!  LOL!

Love you girls!

"Laking"

Went "laking" yesterday.  Yes "laking" ...it's the new verb, like jeans are the new khakis.

Friday, Sarita text & invited me to come to Lake Hamilton on Sat. to this "After the 4th Lake House Party" with some people she's friends with.  I knew some that were going, but not the house owner, etc....I hate going to things where I feel like a "tag along", but decided to go anyway.  What the heck?  It's nice out, I'll get to meet new peeps, get some sun, maybe see some cuties, so I'm there!  Get to destination, get on the boat, introduce myself to the people I don't know, etc..
Ben, the boat owner then says, "We have some celebrities coming with us today".

SIDENOTE: It's not unreasonable that these folks I'm with "know" people, they have $ & are always the "in" crowd at places, etc.

So I think to myself...who could it be?  Ben then says, "Do you know who Simon Cowell is?"  I said, "Who?" (thinking I misunderstood who he said).  He says, "You know, Simon Cowell...XFactor, American Idol..."  I said, "WHAT?  Hahaha!  You are just pulling my leg!  Nice try Ben!"
He says, "No. Really. He's up in the house about to come down.  He was here last night.  Jermaine Taylor will be here soon too."  Then Ben goes about his business getting things organized in the boat.
Now, I am NOT a naive person by no means, but again, with these people, anything is possible!  I get nervous inside and think to myself, "I am about to be chilling at the lake all day with FREAKIN' SIMON COWELL!!!!!  How sweet is this going to be?"  I was trying to find my bag, so I could get my phone ready, I'm fixing my hair in my mirror screen, trying to look cool in my shades, heart is beating a little fast...to be honest, I am FLIPPING out!  SIMON COWELL girls! LOL!!
So, 5 minutes pass, people start rolling out of the house to get on all of the boats, and then it happens!  Simon Cowell walks out onto the upper deck.  He is on his cell phone, has his swimming trunks on, & a pair of sunglasses.  So girls, as he starts to walk down the stairs to get to the dock (I've got my shades on, watching every move as he gets closer, heart pounding), Ben says, "Shauna, that's Simon Cowell, now do you know who I am talking about?"
LUMP IN MY THROAT, I respond, "Yeah".
Then Simon reaches the dock & I am thinking OHH MY GOSH!!!!  Then all of a sudden Simon says, "Let's load up!" & the most country sounding Arkansas accent comes out of Simon's mouth & I am like WHAT THE WHAT?  Where is the British accent?
It is not Simon Cowell, it is the house owner Jim.
But I tell you what, this guy is a 110% Simon Cowell look alike!  If he worked on his British accent, he could be Simon!  Like win a contest Simon!  Like have TMZ follow his every move Simon!!  I laughed in my own little world, & then slapped Ben on the arm! LOL!

But I am not the only one...later on that night we all went to Smyly's, "Simon" wore a grayish V-neck tshirt & people were whispering as we passed by. Girl's asked to take their picture with him, it was so funny! Just crazy!
So that is my "Laking" excitement!  Had a great time, met some "new" friends, got a lot of sun!  Fun times!
The next Chapter will be coming out later this week.  Titled "Oceaning"
Cause I'm BEACH BOUND baby! :)  Peace out my friends!  Love you girls!

I finally figured it out!

After signing up, reading, signing out, signing in, searching everywhere on here trying to find out what to do, signing out again, signing in, ending up on someone else's blog, signing out, reading the help page, signing up for Google+ & realizing that is not what I needed to do, signing out, texting Rach, Rach texting back words of encouragement (but no help, lol), signing in once again just to feel like a failure, signing out, texting Rachel again for help, receiving several texts back from Rach with just a whole lot of jibberish, thinking it was some kind of "code" that I needed to enter, now where should I enter this "code", realizing that Rach's boys had gotten her phone & they were texting me, laughing at the "codes", laughing at myself for thinking they are "codes", giving up for 15 minutes, getting ticked, thoughts of throwing the computer out of the window are flowing, thinking I may need therapy, walking away, getting back on, realization that I may should read my welcome email, read, FINALLY figuring out that I was supposed to sign in with a different account, feeling like a complete idiot, sign in with the right account, 1-2 hours into it....I AM HERE!!!!! :)....This should be fun girls!

Guess What I Am Doing?

- That's right! I am making Squash Relish... Except I added 2 deseeded and deveined jalapeƱos to the mix. Stay tuned for the rest of the story....

It Comes In Three's

Last night when I got home from the doctor's office (for my back, and everything is just fine) I got home and eventually got really hot...just working around the house. Not a big deal, except I knew something was up because the A/C was continually running. Then I checked the thermostat....it was 85 and the A/C was set on 74. It was out. Brian called the repairman.....It ended up low in freon. Praise the Lord!
Just as soon, as the repairman left, the washing machine quit working. I think the motor is burned up. Brian is going to have to replace it AGAIN.....seems like this happened in the exact order as last year. On the flip side, Mom has volunteered to do part of my laundry. Note to self: buy her some flowers!
And the third was either Winston throwing up/dry heaving all night or the vacuum breaking down. Today Winston feels great...like he wasn't even sick. And I fixed the vacuum on the spot.

Still have a lot to be thankful for, including this silly little blog. I really hope we keep this up.

What I have been thinking about lately: Making squash relish, and finding a recipe for stewed tomatoes.

I am going to try to post a "look what I did" post soon.

Love,

-rachel

Friday :)

Well, it's Friday, another week is gone.  Benjamin is coming home from his week long vacation to Minnesota. I hope he had a great time and made lots of memories.  It's hard to believe he'll be 13 this December. Time needs to "pump the breaks", if you know what I mean.  Anyway, I didn't sit down to get all sappy but somehow it happened.  Now, on to brighter things. Today is laundry day and it's going on 3 weeks, using my homemade laundry soap. It cost me a total of maybe $13 dollars and there's still tons left.  This make me :)
Okay, time to get my butt in gear.  I'll leave you with another quote from a brilliant man.

Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.
